Regulations for swimming pool use at the Krakow University of Economics

Regulations for swimming pool use at UEK.


  1. These Regulations define the rules for the operation and use of the swimming pool, including the sauna, located within the Sports-Teaching Complex of the Krakow University of Economics at number 27 in Rakowicka street (hereinafter referred to as the “swimming pool”).
  2. The swimming pool is managed by the Academic Sports Administration (Biuro Sportu Akademickiego, hereinafter: BSA) of the Krakow University of Economics.
  3. The swimming pool is open from Monday to Friday from 6:15 am to 10:00 pm; on Saturdays from 6:15 am to 8:00 pm, and on Sundays from 6:15 am to 9:00 pm.
  4. Time slots at the swimming pool last 45 minutes each.
  5. The maximum number of participants during one time slot is 36 people. The swimming pool ticket office has the right to suspend the sale of tickets in the event of reaching the maximum number of people in a given slot.
  6. The use of the swimming pool and sauna is possible after paying the fee in accordance with the valid price list.
  7. Before purchasing the selected service, the user should read these regulations. Purchasing the service is tantamount to becoming familiarwith and consenting to these regulations.
  8. Each person using the swimming pool facilities is required to behave in a proper manner, without posing any threat to other persons, respecting the safety of other personswithin the swimming pool area; as well as to maintain order and leave the facilities tidy, and to follow the instructions of the teaching staff, lifeguards, and BSA employees.
  9. It is forbidden: to consume alcohol or intoxicants in the swimming pool area;to enter the swimming pool area after consuming such substances; to smoke any kind of cigarettes.
  10. In addition, it is forbidden:
    • a. To jump into the water with the run-upor push others into the water,
    • b. To run around the edges of the swimming pool,
    • c. To enter the lifeguard stations,
    • d. To pollute the water in the swimming pool basin,
    • e. To use rescue equipment for purposes other than intended,
    • f. To bring in dangerous items, including glass items, sharp tools, etc.,
    • g. To admit persons with medical contraindications for partaking in water activities, persons with external symptoms of a skin disease, with dressings (plasters, bandages, etc.),
    • h. To allow presence of third parties who do not participate in the lessons/activities.
  11. A clean and tidy, flexible swimsuit is required at the swimming pool: for women – a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit, and for men – close-fitting swimming trunks.
  12. The swimming pool can be usedby groups – only under the supervision of the instructor of a given class; as well as by individuals.
  13. Guardians of minors using the swimming pool, who do not participate in the activities, are required to leave the swimming pool area for the duration of the activities. It is acceptable for them to assist in the cloakroom during changing and drying hair (the provision does not apply to people with disabilities).
  14. Persons using the swimming pool are required to leave their shoes in the zone located next to the main cloakroom in the Sports-Teaching Complex. Admission to the swimming pool is allowed only in special footwear, i.e. flip-flops or pool slippers.
  15. Entrance to the edge of the pool is allowed only without footwear, without towels or toiletries, which should be left before crossing the paddling pool.
  16. A group of minors under the care of the teacher may consist of a maximum of 15 persons. Group participants enter the swimming pool all together (at the same time), subject to the explicit consent of the instructor.
  17. The person who is leading the given group is required to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of classes, and enter the swimming pool together with their group. A group without a leader indicated by the person who is making the booking will not be admitted to the swimming pool. The leader shares the responsibility for the safety of the group.
  18. Children up to the age of 7 may use the swimming pool individually only under the supervision of a guardian – an adult who stays with the child in the water at all times. The guardian is required to purchase an entry ticket to the swimming pool in accordance with the valid price list.
  19. Classes at the swimming pool may only take place in the presence of qualified swimming instructors, lifeguards,or physical education teachers.
  20. Instructors conducting individual classes are required to purchase an instructor ticket.
  21. Before entering the swimming pool, it is mandatory to wash one’s whole body in the shower, and to disinfect the feet in the paddling pool.
  22. When the signal finishing the class or the rental period is given, you must immediately leave the swimming pool and proceed to the cloakroom.
  23. The locker room must be left no later than 15 minutes after leaving the pool. Afterwards, you can stay in the drying zone for a maximum of 20 minutes.
  24. Lifeguards on duty supervise the maintenance of order and compliance with the Regulations; and they are responsible for the safety of persons using the swimming pool individually and in groups.
  25. The manager of the Academic Sports Administration or persons designated by him/her may inspect the classes at any time and, in the event of irregularities, they may prohibit further use of the swimming pool by the offenders. Persons violating these Regulations will be immediately removed from the swimming pool area.
  26. Krakow University of Economics is not responsible for things left behind in lockers and for valuables left in the cloakroom.
  27. During competitions, the Organizer is obliged to comply with the provisions of the Regulations and is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers.
  28. The Ledger of Complaints and Suggestions is kept at the Swimming Pool Manager’s office.
